Paxon Alumni Association Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) founded on August 1, 2023, by The Class of 1974. Our mission is to support Paxon School for Advanced Studies and the community in Jacksonville, Florida (formerly Paxon Senior High). The Association is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes.

01 / SCHOLARSHIP

Dr. Royce Turner Scholarship

$2,000 · Awarded annually

Recognizes a senior who has demonstrated academic, service, and leadership qualities while attending Paxon School for Advanced Studies.

View Scholarship Criteria
  • Be a current high school senior at Paxon School for Advanced Studies.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Selected by Dr. Turner and/or his designee.
  • Be active in school activities, clubs, community activities, and/or athletics.
  • Have applied to or been accepted into a college, university, or vocational/trade school.
  • Be in good academic and behavioral standing.
  • Parent consent required.

The Founding Class of 1974 Scholarship

$1,000 · Awarded annually

Recognizes a senior who has demonstrated academic, service, and leadership qualities while attending Paxon School for Advanced Studies.

  • Be a current high school senior at Paxon School for Advanced Studies.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.6.
  • Selected by Dr. Turner and/or his designee.
  • Be active in school activities, clubs, community activities, and/or athletics.
  • Have applied to or been accepted into a college, university, or vocational/trade school.
  • Be in good academic and behavioral standing.
  • Parent consent required.

Selection and Verification Process

Dr. Turner and/or his designee facilitate the scholarship selection process. The Paxon Alumni Association does not recommend candidates, review applications, or access student records. After recipients are identified, the Association verifies their acceptance and enrollment directly with their college, university, or vocational/trade school.

Membership in Paxon Alumni Association Inc. 501(c)(3) is open to all graduates of Paxon, formerly Paxon Senior High School and now Paxon School for Advanced Studies.
